Jobe Megaflow Float Valve

If you have a water buffer tank, you need a Jobe Megaflow Float Valve. This innovative float-operated valve comes from the New Zealand-based, family-owned Jobe Valves. Jim Jobe founded the company in 1967, and his sons Robin and David run the business today.

The Megaflow Float Valve features their quick-connect Detach system, which allows you to clear the filter easily, without any tools. Re-attaching is simple, as well, and can even be done with the water flowing.

A nylon cord connects the weighted float to the pilot valve. When the water level drops, lowering the float, the string opens a pilot valve. The pilot valve, in turn, activates the diaphragm valve, which allows water to flow into the tank. You can lock the valve by sliding the nylon cord through a slot on the top of the valve face. This prevents the valve from opening.

The high-flow Megaflow is a great choice when you need a compact, robust valve. It must be mounted underwater. You can mount the valve to the tank, using the seal washer and backing. Then all you need is a way to connect your water source. You can use either a threaded hose barb or the NPT/GHT adapter. The adapter converts the thread from 3/4″ NPT valve pipe thread to garden hose. If you prefer a hose barb, choose one with 3/4″ MPT threading.
